A vast improvement over traditional crutches, the Sit & Stand is a winning design for a Canadian student. The design has won an award and recognized as being extremely ergonomic.
The Sit & Stand crutch engages the thigh and buttock in the injured leg while keeping weight off the injured lower leg and is said to allow the user to walk in a more natural manner than conventional crutches.
It’s not commercialized as of yet – but you have to love the genius of our young people in this forward thinking design.
